The Benue State born Idah was handed the sentence by Justice Abiodun Akinyemi after he was found guilty of killing the 65-year-old woman her residence in Laderin Housing Estate, Abeokuta, slaughtering her with a machete because she sacked him after he stole items including jewellery, mobile phones and electronics.
Idah was apprehended by residents shortly after killing his boss and later handed over to the police and subsequently arraigned on April 4, 2014 before an Abeokuta Chief Magistrates’ Court on a one-count charge of unlawful killing.
Delivering judgment, Justice Akinyemi found Idah guilty of the murder of the retired senior magistrate and ordered that he be hanged to death.

Idah who worked as domestic servant for two months for the late Timeyin before his sack, reportedly gained entry into the woman's bungalow by scaling the fence and hacked her down in cold blood.
