Cameroonian rapper Stanley Enow visited Nigeria last June for the very first time after his shocking win - Best New Act
- at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) in South Africa. The
award winner stopped by Pulse TV in Lagos for a brief chat where he
shared his innermost experiences with music, meeting with other stars,
love life and other personal campaigns. He told us a lot.
Your Reaction At The MAMAs After Your Name Was Called?
We were asked to sit at the back, for some reason and given the presence of bigger artists like Phyno, Burna Boy and Uhuru in my category, I felt a lit intimidated. But when D'banj and some other lady called my name ... and the winner is... I was very happy. That was the moment for me. I thought... Cameroon is finally on the map... Its a blessing"
Your Reaction To Banky W's Hate Tweet?
I can't really judge that coz Banky W
is a role model to a lot of kids in Africa. I didn't take it personal
but thought he was just being patriotic - If you don't support your
people, who else will support... Cameroonians took it as a problem coz
they love & respect him... For me, I took is spiritual ...'Banky stepped on my toe, he owes me a COLLABO!'"
Your Future
I
want Nigeria to feel my presence lol . I have a lot of Nigerian artists
I wanna work with but I have done a new duet with a young rapper from
Sure-Sulu-Suru--- Surulere called INK. We also have a couple of other Nigerian artists who have shown interest in working with me and I am glad."
Any New Stuff?
I
have a new big single - besides my winning song "Hein Pere" and
"Tumbuboss" - which I'll be releasing soon and It's likely, we will be
working with a top Nigerian music director to shoot the new video?
Any relationship?
Nope, I am single but I have ladies who truly love me around the continent especially in Francophone Africa. I recently did a collabo with a Jamaican lady from Brick N Lace called Nyanda. We worked on the remix to her hit song "Slippery When Wet" and now she's inlove with me ...hahahaha..."
Well, watch below to find out more on Stanley's true experiences as Africa's BEST NEW ACT 2014.
