He pointed out that proper screening of passengers for the viral disease was a major precautionary measure to prevent anotherPatrick Sawyer scenario, when he imported the disease into Nigeria in 2014.
According to Odubanjo, we should learn from our neighbours,Liberia and Sierra Leone who are recording new cases, and as such put preventive measures checks in place.
He noted that we have abandoned the strict measures put in place at the height of the outbreak, and warned against this saying that we cannot let our guards down until every single case of EVD in West Africa is over.
Dr. Segun Agbaje, who is another public health physician, urged the authorities to be on the watch out for symptoms of the disease, saying we had an outbreak the first time because we didn't act on time.
He further stressed the need for hand washing and other hygienic practices, stating that they were key to getting rid of germs, bacteria and other viruses.
