A middle-aged man in Ondo State has committed suicide.
Sad end to life
Barely a week after a middle-aged driver committed suicide in Ondo State, the body of another man identified as Damilola Ibitokun, was found dangling from a tree in a bush at Ero town in the Ifedore Local Government Area of the state.
His suicide which has thrown the community into turmoil, according to family members, is a mystery as nobody could explain what could have led Ibitokun into killing himself.
The deceased’s wife, Muibat, said she could not believe that her husband would end his life in such a manner as he was gentle and had no issues whatsoever, that would lead him into ending it all.
“He and I have been sleeping in our church. But on Tuesday, he told me that he wanted to sleep at home. So I left for the church alone. At about 1am, he came to the church.
Later, he went back home; but in the morning of Wednesday, our neighbours told me that they could not find him. We reported the matter at the police station and later we went into the bush where we found him hanging."
The victim's son, Ayomide, however, said he saw his dad with a rope and knife, but he did not know the he was going to kill himself.
