The Secret Of Valentino’s Success Revealed

SO MANY things contribute to a brand's success - from the intangible allure of a fabric, to the unarguable sway of social media posts - but few items are so clearly responsible for improving a label's fortunes as theValentino Rockstud shoe. So ubiquitous on street-style favourites that its subtle hardware is identifiable even by those who have never seen a Rockstud in the flesh, the shoes have continually sold out in every incarnation since their launch in 2010, and the company's revenues have doubled since their inception.
More than just coincidence, the growth has been carefully coordinated by co-creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuriand Pierpaolo Piccioli, who are both veteran accessories designers by trade. Like Mulberry, which recently hired Celine accessories designer Johnny Coco as its new creative director, and Gucci, which promoted in-house accessories director Alessandro Michele to its helm, brands' focus on the category - which allows aspirational customers to pick up a piece of the aesthetic - is known to pay dividends. Last year saw Valentino's revenues up by 36 per cent, with half of all sales coming from accessories.

"We think that now the designer has to find a new balance," Chiuri toldStyle.com. "Women now want something special, but to use every day - not only for special occasions."
"Valentino is a couture brand," Piccioli added, "and that's something that we've really wanted to keep from the very beginning in our contemporary world. We're concentrating on an effortless elegance, so it's like wearing couture with a street attitude."

The two Ghanaian actors had a very publicised fight on social media. The agreement, which occurred over the Yvonne Nelson-led protest against shabby power supply in Ghana. The actor who was absent at the protest was said to have defended the president of Ghana, a move which made the furious actress call Dumelo a ‘kiss ass’.
However, the beautiful actress and entreprenuer talked about the disagreement on Y107.9FM, a popular radio station in Ghana, saying:
“I’m sure everyone knows John will forever be my baby boo, love, friend, best friend… charley I can go on and on. Chaley I love John oh, we were not fighting, it was just some little child’s play on social media. So me and John we are good, don’t get worried and don’t get scared. His an amazing guy, I don’t think he is in Ghana now. When he comes I know he is going to say all the nice things about me. Me and John we are homies, we are Fantes.
“It’s just the campaign or whatever that started this but let’s not go there. Because I think the a*s kissing tweet wasn’t too bad for him to react that way because I normally tell him he feels like a hundred donkeys and hundred chickens and he is cool. We play like that and we have that relationship. It’s all political.
Defending the fact that she angrily deleted the actor’s photos on her Instagram account during the heat of the fight, Yvonne said that she occasionally deletes some of her Instagram photos.

16 Universities Established By Jonathan Are Illegal - ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) declared that 16 universities and other higher institutions established by the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan are illegal.
Issa Fagge Nasir, ASUU National President stated this on the recent conversion of four colleges of education to universities by the Federal Executive Council, FEC.
Nasir announced that the conversion is an assault on the Acts establishing the colleges, saying that universities are not only established via executive fiats but through thorough consultations with stakeholders and deep understudy of the pros and cons of such decisions.
Issa Fagge Nasir stated: “Our quarrel with the government is that universities are not just established by executive fiats like this administration is doing. So the Federal Government is only compounding the problems already bedeviling the education sector and I wonder if the incoming administration will allow this to stand. Strictly speaking, the Federal Government is not respecting its own laws, and I wonder how you just transmute an institution without looking at its laws. What happens to its staff, facilities and infrastructure? Academic institutions like universities are the bedrock for national development and so are not run without defined mandate and vision, and using them to achieve political gains will only further compound the nation’s problems.”
He also called on the incoming administration to critically assess these decisions and make impartial judgment that will benefit the mass of the people and return the country’s education sector’s lost glory.

Relationships 7 normal phrases couples use that mean something entirely different during sex

Relationship experts say that couples who talk dirty to each other and end up laughing about is an excellent thing because it means your relationship is pretty damn hot if you feel confident enough to unleash hot, dirty talk on your partner.

    Couple in bed

Words are just words but when sex is introduced, a whole new meaning can just come out from a phrase.
Relationship experts say that couples who talk dirty to each other and end up laughing about is an excellent thing because it means your relationship is pretty damn hot if you feel confident enough to unleash hot, dirty talk on your partner.
Lisa Fogarty of SheKnows lists those English phrases you don't want to use during use unless you really want to say them during sex.
    1. I can't fit it in: You have trouble fitting the gym into your daily schedule. It's impossible to fit a manicure in on your way to pick up the kids from daycare. If you can't fit it in during sex, you're either the luckiest woman on the planet or one who needs a big... uh, huh.
    2. We'll never get it in the back: Makes sense when you're discussing whether your CRV will fit in a driveway located at the back of your house. In bed, you're making your true feelings about anal sex crystal clear.
    3. I have no idea what I'm doing: We're betting you will instinctively know what to do in bed in a way we only wish would transfer over to other parts of life — like hemming a pair of pants or operating a snowblower.
    4. Let's put on music: You could put on a spaghetti western soundtrack for all your partner cares, if one person makes this suggestion, it's probably because he or she feels awkward about something — the sounds your bodies are making, the sounds she will make when she queefs — who knows and who cares? Hit the play button.
    5. Does that feel good?: What you really mean to say is: Oh my goodness, would you please react in some way because I have absolutely zero idea what turns you on and you aren't giving me a single clue to work with.
    6. Are you done yet?: Fine when you're discussing whether he has finished using the bathroom so you can hog it for 30 minutes — but absolutely soul-crushing when you (or he) says it in bed. Sex isn't a race and if he is enjoying himself in you, well, that must mean you're pretty amazing. What's the rush?
    7. I love you: There's the "I love you" that you say when you're not about to make each orgasm and there's the "I love you" that sounds like some mix of a moan and a meow that escapes your body during sex and has little to do with your brain. Of course, it's possible to sincerely love someone with whom you're having sex, but it's just as possible to love the sex more than the person.

New Beginnings Fashola signs bill requiring every Lagosian to have health insurance into law

The bill is pro-poor in nature recognising that the poor and vulnerable will need to have subsidised premiums from the state government.

It's a new dawn for health care in Lagos state as Governor Babatunde Fashola has signed into law the Lagos State Health Management Agency Bill, which will mandate Lagosians to have compulsory health insurance.
According to Business Day, the bill is pro-poor in nature recognising that the poor and vulnerable will need to have subsidised premiums from the state government.
Speaking on the bill, Fashola said:
“For those who cannot afford the scheme Lagos State is not saying there is no free health anymore, but we know that there are things that are covered under the free health like malaria treatment and antenatal. For those things that are not covered by the health scheme and cannot be afforded by the less privileged, it will be paid for.”
Health stakeholders believe this act by the state government signals a sure way of improving health outcomes in Lagos and ensuring that the poor have access to quality healthcare.
Citizens are mandated to contribute into the Lagos Health Fund regardless of whether they consume care or not in the bill as the aim is to run a Lagos State health scheme that will be made mandatory for all residents of Lagos State.
Furthermore, the bill  recognises that in existence are prepaid health care agencies already being subscribed to by residents of Lagos State but the minimum anyone can have is a plan under the Lagos State healthcare.
To this end, the Lagos State registration agency card will be the least perquisite for anybody to be registered under the scheme.
The bill will start running later this year though the process is ongoing.

The Triple MG boss Iyanya also had to cancel his trip to liberia on May 24, 2015 where he was scheduled to perform at the Ebola Free concert because the airline companies found it difficult to purchase aviation fuel
Major network service providers MTN and Airtel also announced that customers would soon start experiencing difficulties in reception if the needed fuel is not provided soon, because they are running low on the needed fuel to power their engines.
Just how much longer before everything shuts down?

    CEO, Producer, Singer: Don Jazzy

    Singer: Tiwa Savage
Don Jazzy has revealed how much of a struggle the first year of Mavin Records was for him.
After his acrimonious split with D’banj and the fall of Mo’Hits Records, the producer revamped  his formula, and founded Mavin Records on May 8, 2012.
But the label was off to a turbulent start, with a number of songs from the house, 92 actually, flopping on the mainstream market, including their compilation album, ‘Solar Plexus’.
“The first year was really bad. In the first year, we released about a hundred songs, 92 exactly but people didn’t want to hear them.” Don Jazzy said at the Tigo Ghana Meets Naija Concert held last week.
“We put out a lot of work but maybe some people didn’t hear it or maybe it was bad or maybe we were not emotionally at the right place and then the music wasn’t right. But then at some point, I think God heard our prayers.”
Mavin Records is home to recording artists such as Tiwa Savage, Dr SID, D'PrinceDi'Ja, Reekado Banks and Korede Bello. The label also houses a roster of producers such as Jazzy himself, Altims and Baby Fresh. Wande Coal was formerly signed to the label, but he left in 2013.

Tom Ford Business mogul backs new fashion film project, 'The True Cost'

'The True Cost' explores the negative impact of fast fashion, a topic many have avoided.

Top fashion designer, Tom Ford has pledged his full support behind a new fashion film project because of it's 'touching and holistic' concept.
The businessman was seen at a London screening of 'The True Cost' earlier this week, an expose and eventual docu-series which explores the negative impact of fast fashion: from pesticides in cotton to discarded clothes that clog landfills.
At the 2015 Cannes, Ford sold his next film, 'Nocturnal Animals' to Universal for $20 million so it's only fair to say the fashionable filmmaker has an interest in projects that affect the planet and its inhabitants.
'The True Cost' is exec-produced by Livia Firth and is also supported by big shots like Net-a-Porter founder NatalieMassenet, designer Nicole Farhi and British Fashion Council head Caroline Rush.
