School teacher Kelly Hendrix was suspended for cursing in class and calling at least one student ‘gay’
A Florida teacher, Kelly Hendrix, has been suspended for allegedly calling a student “gay” and labelling another a lesbian.
According to school officials, Hendrix interrogated the pupils at Southside Middle School in Jacksonville about their sexuality and warned them not to let anyone know about it.
But the students later reported to another teacher, claiming she asked questions, like “Are you gay?” and “How do you know you’re not attracted to the female body?”
Some of her victims told investigators that she also ridiculed some of them
She called one a “dumb ass,” “gay” and “retarded,” a student reportedly said.
To make things worse, some of the students told investigators Hendrix had told them stories about kissing and having sex with another teacher.
But Hendrix had denying the allegations.
“I called the boy outside and I said to the boy, I said, 'What's going on?' And he said, 'Kids are calling me gay,' and I looked at him and said, 'Well are you gay?' And he said, 'No,' and I said, 'Well why does that bother you?'" Hendrix told WFOX-TV.
According to her, she was only protecting the kid.
Meanwhile, investigators say they have enough evidence to back up the allegations.
Hendrix has been placed on 15 days suspension without pay for violating district policies.
